This course is based on the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine regarding the human body:

• The history of Mingmu Gong (Eye Brightening Exercise) is long and it is an outstanding heritage of traditional Chinese health culture, making it an important part of Chinese life philosophy. From the oracle bone script era to the present, the methods of Mingmu Gong have continuously evolved, transitioning from simple ideas and techniques for protecting the eyes to a richer theoretical foundation shaped by traditional philosophical and medical theories.

• Systematic Thinking: Our body is a complete life system; many local issues are caused by imbalances in the entire system. Thus, we should be concerned with the whole system, maintaining and increasing energy to ensure smooth energy flow through the meridians, nourishing each organ and part of our body.

• Daily Maintenance: We need to regularly maintain our bodies (at least 4 times a week) to ensure good blood circulation and function in every part.

• Prevention First: It takes a long time for the body to return to normal after illness, and there is a price of pain involved. Therefore, health depends on prevention; spending a bit of time each day maintaining health and good function in all parts of the body is crucial.

• Symmetrical Movement: Long-term asymmetrical postures can lead to skeletal distortions and cause various diseases. Thus, it is necessary to adjust the body's angles, front to back, side to side, and up and down, to restore the skeleton to a healthy state.

• Flowing with Health: Many diseases are caused by poor local blood and energy circulation. Under conditions of good energy/blood circulation, the body can self-recover. Therefore, we should ensure smooth passages throughout the body.

• Organ Health: The five internal organs are the roots of bodily health. Healthy organs mean a healthy body.
